Andrews is linked to Texas and the nation, in all directions, by major highways and provides an excellent “home base” for travelers. Within a half-day’s drive are Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio, and the scenic mountains of New Mexico.
Visitors to the city can arrive by air, bus, or car. Ideally located in West Texas, Andrews is approximately 35 miles north of Odessa, 45 miles northwest of Midland, 108 miles south of Lubbock, and 57 miles southeast of Hobbs, New Mexico.
U.S. Highway 385 and State Highway 176 intersect in downtown Andrews, and Andrews is also accessible to State Highway 115 and Interstate Highway 20.
Air service is available from Midland International Airport, which is a short forty minutes from Andrews. Midland International Airport, the ninth largest airport in the state of Texas with approximately 560,000 boardings per year, is served by major air carriers including American Eagle, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, and Southwest Airlines. Non-stop jet service to Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, El Paso, and Austin are available, with connections to every major city in the U.S. Midland International Airport also serves as a U.S. Customs Port of Entry. Plus, an additional international airport is within easy driving distance at Lubbock.
Be sure to take advantage of the Andrews County Airport, which has lighted runways up to 6,000 feet long. Our county airport offers fulltime operations and serves small aircraft traffic, including business jets.
Andrews remains free of the traffic woes prevalent in large cities, leaving you more leisure time to enjoy a “quality” way of life. If your drive through West Texas meets up with the beautiful sunsets our area is famous for, you will never want to leave. The effect is just the same at sunrise, too!
